About The Associates

In 1912, as the Jewish Home’s history is told, a group of Jewish grocers and businessmen made it possible to provide food and shelter for five indigent Jewish men looking for a place to celebrate Passover.  But who cooked, set the table, and washed the dishes?  Of course, it was the women!

Ever since that time, women have been the backbone of support of the Jewish Home. The auxiliary names may have changed – Women’s Auxiliary, Junior Auxiliary, Ida Mayer Cummings Auxiliary, Associates-IMC, and, today, The Associates – but  the determined resolve has always been the same:  to support those in need regardless of their ability to pay.

2021 Tree of Life

As we look to the future and a time when we can all safely gather together in beautiful surroundings, enjoy a delicious lunch, and celebrate our deserving honorees, the health and well-being of our friends and members remains paramount in our decision to once again remain virtual with the 2021 Tree of Life event.

This year we honor the leadership and legacy of the women’s auxiliaries — from the very beginning of the Jewish Home in 1912, to the present day — and the vital financial support each group has provided to the Home over the years.

Please join us by making a tax-deductible donation in support of the women and men who rely on the Home for their physical, mental, and spiritual care by participating in our 2021 Tree of Life Virtual Tribute Journal.
